Ciovo is an island in the central-Dalmatian archipelago, it is connected to Trogir, "the city-museum" (on the UNESCO list) by bridge. There are several villages: Arbanija, Zedno, Okrug Gornji, Okrug Donji, and the hamlets of Slatine and Prizidnica. The island abounds in olives, mandorls, figs, vine and agrumes.Ciovo is famous for its sandy and pebble beaches and small coves. Along the western coast there are several gravel and sandy beaches, those in the Saldun bay are the most ample ones. The beaches on the eastern side of the island are also very attractive, there you can find big gravel beaches or small isolated beaches offering some privacy. The most popular beach on the island, and on the Trogir Riviera is a 2 km pebble beach Okrug ("Copacabana of Trogir") in Okrug Gornji. There is a large number of beach bars, just like few restaurants, it is famous for its night life. Ciovo has also some interesting monuments (traces of the pre-Romanesque church of St. Peter have been found near Slatine, in the Supetar cove, the medieval church of St. Maurice has been preserved in Zedno, the pre-Romanesque church of Our Lady near the Sea, the church and the Dominican monastery of the Holy Cross built in the 15th century,, the ermitage....) There are also a couple of caves on the island, the most famous ones are Bilosaj and Ancina jama. The nearness of tourist destinations provides possibility for the guests to enjoy historical and cultural monuments, sports activities and rich night life. The historical town Trogir is connected to Ciovo by bridge. It is famous for its rich cultural-historical heritage (cathedral, the Portal of Master Radovan, forts and towers, narrow streets, master pieces) and for its summer nights (restaurants, caffe bars, disco clubs). Split, with is 1700 years long tradition and its famous Diocletian Palacem the antique Salona are distant only 25 km, the Klos fort 25 km, the airport 10 km, Sibenik and Krka National Park 65 km, Omis 50 km....
