Tucepi
is well known tourist destination located in the Makarska Riviera, 4 km
southeast of the city of Makarska. Placed under the steep hillside of
the impressive Biokovo mountain, at the area where pine wood and olive
trees are "joined" with the sea. Due to it’s unique position and
climate, long white pebble beaches, clear sea and quality accomodation
this place became a popular tourist destination.
The village was
inhabited in Antic ages, it was mentioned for the first time mentioned
in the year 1434. The St. George's church was built in the 13th
century. The Baroque villas of Ivanisevic and Lucic-Pavlovic families
dated from 18 th century are located on the coast. The former summer
house of the abbot Grubisic became the Hotel Kastelet.
Aside for
the possibility of enjoing the sun and the sea, guests have on disposal
numerous sport and recreational amusements ( soccer, tennis,
basketball, handball, beach volleyball, water sports, water skiing, jet
ski, sea paragliding, wind surfing, diving, hiking, biking). The summer
nights of Tucepi contain numerous cultural-entertaining events: plays,
exhibitions, concerts, different music and folclor events. There are
also many restaurants with an extraordinary gastro specialities, bars
and caffes, and near the place there is a center of the riviera- the
city of Makarska - well known for its vivid night life.
